EVALUATION Q4 - HOW DID YOU USE MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES IN THE CONSTRUCTION, RESEARCH, PLANNING AND EVALUATION STAGES?

How did you use media technologies in the construction, research planning and evaluation stages?

ÒHARDWARE – SONY HXR-MC2000E – SOLID STATE CAMERA, INBUILT HARD DRIVE, USB DEVICE – DELL XPS MACHINES I7 PROCESSERS
ÒSOFTWARE - WINDOWS 7 – PREMIERE PRO CS5 – ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS5 – MOZILLA FIREFOX – BLOGGER – YOUTUBE – MICROSOFT POWERPOINT

Research and Planning
I searched google to find the codes and conventions of documentaries, then wrote a text document detailing the codes and conventions of documentaries giving me a better idea of how I would construct it. I used the colleges high end dell computers through this whole process. I used the Blogger website to display and share my work with the group. I also used  used the website ‘Top documentary films’ to watch more documentaries and build the codes and conventions, linking them with examples. YouTube helped me to display the finished audio and video work by embedding the links on blogger.

Construction
We used Sony HXR – MC 2000 E solid state cameras with inbuilt hard drives to filn the interviews and A-roll footage (including still images). The camera features exellent sound recording so we used them to capture the radio trailer and the audience feedback too. USB cables were used to put the  clips we'd filmed onto the college computers and memory sticks used to transport any other work to college. I used a 8GB SD card to carry all my work, which was sufficient. We abtained archive footage of the celebrities we featured through youtube and google images.
To edit the clips we used a software program called adobe Premier Pro CS5, which was difficult to use at first but after a few basic tutorials from our teacher and the internet we managed to start using professional techniques and create the final media products. We also usedAdobe Photoshop CS5 to edit the stills images we were featuring (mainly the ones of Rihanna and Chris Brown which were used for visuals during the interveiws).
EvaluationTo complete my evaluation I used the websites google, Blogger, Youtube and Microsoft Powerpoint for question 2 which is posted on slideshare. Blogger was the most useful rescource as it allowed me to look over all my work from the project and remind myself of what to write about.

EVALUATION Q3 - WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT FROM YOUR AUDIENCE FEEDBACK?

The following was my audience feedback:

We managed to get two people to give audio respones to our documentary. We chose to record a parent and a teenager, as these are the types of people featured within the documentary and also the target audience.

This feedback is from Clio, the parent (age 30), who seemed to enjoy the documentary

This is the 2nd audio feedback from Ellie, aged 16

This Is what I learned from these responses;

The content of the documentary was interesting and varied, making it a good watch. I gathered there could have been more done to improve the presentation of that content, as neither of the responses praised the visual style of the documentary or the technical achievements. However the overall impression is good and I would be happy to show the documentary as a illustration of my skills.

EVALUATION Q2 - HOW EFFECTIVE IS THE COMBINATION OF YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT AND ANCILLARY TEXTS? (POSTER AND RADIO AD) HOW DO THEY COMPLIMENT EACHOTHER?
